The My Gorilla Garage Floor Process

There are a lot of things you can get done in one day, but refinishing your concrete isn’t something that’s typically done that quickly. Most methods can be applied in one day (In most cases), but take at least another day, if not multiple, for the entire process, from preparation of the surface until it’s fully dry and cured. Most of our garage floor sealing and resurfacing installations in Cincinnati are applied and set in just 24 hours, which means your cars, motorcycle, tools, and other items only need to be out of your garage for one day (In most cases)! With a My Gorilla Garage, you can begin using your newly refinished garage, patio, porch, or other floor protection the very next day.

Steps For Installation

Cincinnati Concrete Coating

Step 1

One of our Cincinnati garage floor sealing or resurfacing specialists will come to your home for a free inspection of the concrete you’re hoping to refinish. They’ll moisture test the area to ensure the product will adhere properly once applied. If they find the moisture level is too high, instruct the installation team that they’ll have to start the moisture abatement process when they arrive to prepare your floors for installation.

Step 2

A My Gorilla Garage floor specialist will show up on installation day ready to prepare the floor. They’ll begin by diamond grinding the surface with our state-of-the-art, industry leading diamond grinder. This process opens up millions of tiny pores within the surface of the concrete, so the polyaspartic coating can bond properly with the slab. We’ll use an angle grinder to make sure all cracks and joints also get the attention they’ll need for our product to adhere properly. The floor is then vacuumed with HEPA filtration to remove any remaining dust particles and all cracks and joints are sealed.

Note, if our moisture inspection discovered the moisture level was too high for our standard process during the inspection, our representative will review the moisture abatement process to ensure a successful floor coating.

Step 3

A two-part priming coat is blended with a tinted base to help achieve your chosen color and rolled into the tiny pores of the floor created by the diamond grinding. This provides superior adhesion that resists delamination and ensures long life, and high performance and protection.

Step 4

A My Gorilla Garage technician will then put on special shoes that will allow them to walk on the wet floor. They will scatter decorative chips into the base coat to achieve the desired look and increase traction for a slip-resistant surface. We can mix and match base coat and flake colors to create virtually any pattern you can imagine!

Step 5

After a short time, the floor will be dry enough to have a technician scrape off any excess chips. The scraped chips will be gathered and thrown away before a two-part polyurea top coat is blended and poured directly onto the floor. A special squeegee is used to pull the material to the desired thickness, creating a shiny, attractive finish that’s water resistant, resists oil and grease, and is very easy to clean.
